TitleOld houses in the Butcher Row
DescriptionAccording to the confession of Thomas Winter the conspirators "met behind St Clement's, Mr Catesby, Mr Percy, Mr Wright, Mr Guy Fawkes and myself, and having upon a primer, given each other the oath of secrecy, in a chamber where no other body was, we went into the next room and heard mass, and received the blessed sacrament upon the same". The right-hand corner house in this view which stood on the east side of St Clement's Lane, near Clements Inn and was taken down 30 March 1708 is said to be the house where they met.
