| Title | [Interior view of the House of Lords' Chamber] |
| Description | Interior view of the House of Lords' Chamber, taken from the public gallery. The view takes in the breadth of the Chamber, and looks towards the Woolsack and the royal thrones. The caption on the reverse of the postcard reads: "'The Gilded Chamber' is an imposing and lavishly decoarated Gothic Hall. Beneath a gorgeous canopy are the Thrones of the King and Queen and the State Chair of the Prince of Wales. In front of this is the Woolsack, a cushioned Ottoman, occupied by the Lord Chancellor as president of the House of Lords. Ambassadors and distinguished strangers sit in the galleries above, on each side of the throne canopy". Postcard published by Raphael Tuck & Sons. |
