Description | Legend reads: The Chelsea Water Works were originally constructed in 1724 a little east of the Chelsea Hospital Gardens. They were removed to Kingston when the Act of Parliament prohibited water companies taking water from the Thames below Kingston. Adjoining were Jenny's Whim Tavern and Tea Garden. also the wooden bridge where Ebury Bridge now is. Drawn and engraved by J Boydell. Prints (1) and (3) are duplicates. |
