John Mackfarson of St Martin-in-the-Fields, carpenter Lease for 31 years of a timber messuage, with appurtenances, situated about the middle of Olivers Alley in the Strand, St Martin-in-the-Fields which is now being repaired by John Mackfarson but not yet finished, save only that there shall be (i) free liberty for John Hardwick to make a door and case in the new wall next to Thomas Day's premises, so separating the premises demised from other premises of John Hardwick lying north towards Maiden Lane (ii) free liberty to make a watercourse to the main sewer in the Strand (iii) free liberty for John Hardwick to continue the lead pipe now in the ground to make and lay a new one as often as he shall think convenient for conveying water from the main branch or wooden pipes now lying in the Strand to his other premises lying north (iv) free ingress and passage as is now set out A covenant not to obstruct the windows of premises belonging to Thomas Day is included. 24 Mar 1717[-8]. |
