Rowland Atkinson of Snow Hill, sadler and ironmonger By indenture dated 5 Jun 1783, premises on the west side of York Street, St James, Westminster were demised to William Hodgson for a term of 21 years from 25 Mar 1783. William Hodgson has also purchased premises in Half Moon Passage, Aldersgate, Clothfair, St Bartholomew the Great as well as three other messuages in Half Moon Passage, St Botolph, subject to both an underlease and a mortgage agreed by William Hodgson in the sum of £600. At the request of William Hodsgon, Thomas Clark and Wilkinson Long agreed to undertake building work on the premises in Half Moon Passage for which William Hodgson is now indebted to them. As security for these loans, William Hodges assigns the premises in York Street to Rowland Atkinson acting as agent for Thomas Clark and John WIlkinson Long. William Hodgson has also assigned to Rowland Atkinson a lease for a year from 11 Jan 1786 of all the properties in Half Moon Passage and granted a release to Thomas Clark and JW Long. ENCLOSED 12 Jan 1786: 1. William Hodgson 2. Rowland Atkinson Lease for a year from 11 Jan 1786 of properties in Half Moon Passage, Aldersgate. This deed in turn is endorsed with assignment of the properties in Half Moon Passage by Rowland Atkinson and William Hodgson to John Wilkinson Long.
