The picture portrays Trafalgar Square as a microcosm of Victorian Society, from flowergirls and beggars to aristocratic families and the militia. Engraved by James Sands from a drawing by Thomas Allom. Published by J Robins & Sons, Tooley Street, London. The National Gallery was actually designed by William Wilkins. F136.1 (5) is a duplicate.
