| Description | View of the fine interior of the dining room of the Grand Hotel. The hotel opened in 1880 on the site of the former Northumberland House and was designed by the architects Francis & Francis. The walls of the dining room were covered in long Venetian mirrors and the high decorated ceiling was supported by white columns with gilded captials.
