Description | View of the Chapel of St Thomas of Canterbury, also known as Cardinal Vaughan's Chantry Chapel. The chapel features a memorial to the Cardinal Priest Herbert Vaughan, third Archbishop of Westminster, who was the founder of Westminster Cathedral. The memorial consists of a sculpture of the Cardinal at rest, and the plinth bears the following inscription: "Pray for the soul of Herbert Vaughan Cardinal Priest of the Holy Roman Church, third Archbishop of Westminster and founder of this Cathedral, born 15 April 1832, died 19 June, 1903".
