Description | View of the font in the Baptistry of St Mary Undercroft. The font is viewed through the entrance to the Baptistry, and the image includes the mural of Jesus Christ on the wall behind the font. The caption on the reverse of the postcard reads: "St Stephen's Crypt (the Font) - This is the ancient Crypt of St Stephen's Chapel which stood for centuries where now is St Stephen's Hall. Near by are the beautiful cloisters built by Henry VIII, which a fan-tracery ceiling. The Crypt Chapel has been restored and richly decorated. Postcard published by Raphael Tuck & Sons. |
