Description | View of the King's coach arriving at a large pavilion erected for the opening of Kingsway on 18 October 1905. The streets are decorated with bunting and flags, and large crowds have gathered to see the King. The streets are lined with policemen and Grenadier Guards. In the background, large numbers of people can be seen standing on rooftops to get a view of the event. On the right of the image, a large placard advertises building sites to lease from the London County Council. On the far left is the Salvation Army Men's Social Work Shelter for Homeless Men.
