Description of St. George and the Dragon above clock on bridge. Originally erected in 1925 and renovated by firm of Croydon clockmakers. Believed to have been copied from clock in Wells Cathedral.

Clock newly painted. Gilded dial to represent the sun. Day and night on either side and cherub heads to represent winds.

Mechanism of clock renewed including the circular railway contraption to bring out St. George and the Dragon on the hour. Thrusts of spear timed to striking of the hour. Run from master clock inside Liberty's.
