| Description | Black and white photograph showing an interior view of a ward at the hospital. The Infants' Hospital was founded by Robert Mond and Ralph Vincent in a small house in Hampstead in 1903, and moved to Vincent Square in 1906. As well as treating children, the hospital trained doctors and nurses and furthered research into infant mortality. Run by voluntary contributions, it was in constant need of funding. In 1947 it became the Westminster Children's Hospital. Photo by Bedford Lemere. |
