DescriptionQueen's College Harley Street, founded by F D Maurice and others in 1848, was the first school in the country to provide higher education for women. The schooling was aimed at providing an education for women who were planning to go on to be governesses and teachers themselves. Katherine Mansfield is among the students in this picture. Duplicate modern copies of a photo of c1905.
