| Description | When Paddington Station was built in 1850-1854, Brunel had insisted that broad gauge tracks rather than standard should be laid. Brunel's broad gauge was finally abandoned in 1892 and the photograph depicts the last of the broad gauge trains to depart Paddington, leaving Paddington station, 10.15 am, 20 May 1892. Prints (3b) & (3c) are modern copies. |
